This is now... Well, a month ago really...

Same type of party - one year later. Went to a spraypark, kids played, cupcakes (72 of them) were made and eaten, Sarah (pictured to the left peeking up and over) turned 4, and had a great time.

Not sure if the all-out party thing is our bag.
Maybe next year we will aim for small and quaint. hmm... but then again, I do like a production. Who knows. We will leave the birthday planning to the birthday girl. To a certain extent anyway!

That was then.... a whole year ago

Here is a picture from last year's party at Inlow park on August 6th, 2007. Sarah was heavy into the Bob the Builder items, so she had a Bob the Builder birthday.

We had a homemade pinata and huge cake made, etc. The lengths to which us mommies go to fulfill the birthday fantasy is almost embarrassing.

It was the HOTTEST day of the year I think, and I am sure there was sweat on everything. ugh. The cake had to be eaten immediately. It was beginning to slide off onto the ground.

I needed to look back and compare... Next I will give a glimpse into the 4 year old birthday...

Once upon a midnight posting,
Here I sit all warm and toasty,
Looking over various blogs of friends I've met before.

While I look I can't help dreaming,
A blog for me to post my beaming,
About all that thrills this mom about her child who's four.

Late night ramblings sound like dreams
that surface in my words and thoughts
Perhaps a naps will fix the kinks
And get me to do just what I ought.
